Feed the Village

Feed the Village is one of EPTSAL’s ongoing commitments to building stronger, healthier communities. Through this initiative, we partner with local schools, daycares, churches, and community centers to provide essential groceries and household support to underserved families. Our efforts directly serve veterans, seniors, single-parent households, individuals with disabilities, and children in current or previous foster care, ensuring that no member of our community is overlooked.

Program Impact

During the third quarter, EPTSAL strategically partners with five local schools, rotating to a different school every Friday to ensure equitable distribution of resources across neighborhoods. In addition, we collaborate with at least three churches to extend outreach beyond school families and provide groceries to the broader community. These trusted community hubs allow us to reach individuals in need where they already gather, removing barriers to access and fostering trust.

Why It Matters

Food insecurity continues to be a critical barrier to stability for families in underserved communities. By focusing on vulnerable populations—including foster youth, veterans, seniors, and people with disabilities—Feed the Village addresses immediate needs while supporting long-term resilience. Each distribution not only provides groceries but also serves as a touchpoint for connecting families to educational resources, health access opportunities, and emergency preparedness training offered through EPTSAL and our partners.

Sustainability & Grant Alignment

EPTSAL’s Feed the Village program is designed with sustainability and measurable outcomes at its core:

  • Equity in Access: Regular, rotating school and church partnerships ensure balanced coverage across multiple neighborhoods.

  • Holistic Support: By combining food distribution with access to health screenings, educational information, and community referrals, families receive comprehensive assistance.

  • Data & Accountability: Attendance, household demographics, and follow-up tracking allow EPTSAL to document program impact, measure outcomes, and report transparently to funders.

  • Community Partnerships: Leveraging existing networks of schools, daycares, and faith-based organizations strengthens capacity without duplicating services.

Feed the Village is more than a food program—it is a community resilience initiative. By empowering families with immediate nutrition support and connecting them to ongoing resources, EPTSAL bridges the gap between survival and self-sufficiency.
